Appointments

Appointments

Book your appointment by using askmyGP.

You can request the clinician (as long as they are working) of your choice and choose to be contacted by the surgery by telephone or secure message.  If we need to see you we will usually give you an appointment the same day.

You will need to register the first time you use askmyGP, but this can easily be done online without any paperwork by clicking the link above.

askmyGP is available to all Stowhealth patients and you can use it to ask about your children or other people you care for (as long as they are registered with us).

We are encouraging everyone who has access to a computer, smartphone or tablet to use askmyGP from the link above or on our home page.

If you do not have access you can still contact the surgery by telephone on 01449 776000 who will complete and submit your request for you.

To ensure you get the care and support from your preferred clinician please try and contact us on the day that your GP works.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else..

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific health professional you would prefer to respond

  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 11am if you require a home visit.

A clinician may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send one of our visiting clinicians.

Home visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.
